  • Who are we?

ICSW was founded in 1928 as the International Conference of Social Work, and changed its organizational name to the International Council on Social Welfare on the occasion of its 14th meeting in 1966.

JNC was established as a private organization neither controlled nor protected by law in 1936, and became a corporation with the name of Japanese National Committee of the International Council on Social Welfare in 1969.

ICSW consists of National Member Organization in each country (Category A), International Member Organizations (Category B), Other Member Organizations (Category C) and Associate Member Organization (Category D). On behalf of Japan, JNC/ICSW joins it as one of the Category A members.
